Athletics

Overview

At Clear Creek Middle School, student-athletes are representatives of our school, team, and community. Participation in athletics is a privilege that requires responsibility, commitment, and respect. When signing our Student Athlete Behavioral Expectation Contract, student-athletes agree to uphold the values of teamwork, integrity, and sportsmanship, both on and off the field.

Expectations for Student-Athletes:

  1. Academic Responsibility
    • Maintain grades of D or higher (no Fs) in all classes to remain eligible for participation.
    • Complete all classwork, homework, and projects in a timely manner.
    • Seek help from teachers or coaches if academic challenges arise.
  2. Behavior and Conduct
    • Show respect to teammates, coaches, officials, and opponents.
    • Refrain from using inappropriate language or gestures.
    • Avoid involvement in bullying, harassment, or other forms of disrespectful behavior.
    • Follow all school rules during practices, games, and travel.
    • Suspensions from school will result in consequences to be determined based on the severity of the infraction
  3. Attendance and Punctuality
    • Attend all practices, games, and team meetings unless excused in advance by the coach.
    • Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to participate.
  4. Teamwork and Sportsmanship
    • Support and encourage teammates at all times.
    • Handle wins with humility and losses with grace.
    • Abide by the rules and decisions of officials and coaches.
  5. Health and Wellness
    • Abstain from using drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or vaping products.
    • Report any injuries to the coach immediately.
    • Commit to staying physically and mentally fit to perform at your best.

Consequences for Failing to Meet Expectations:

Failure to comply with the expectations outlined above may result in:

  • A verbal warning and discussion with the coach.
  • Temporary suspension from practices or games.
  • A meeting with parents, coaches, and school administration.
  • Removal from the team for the remainder of the season.

Sports & Fees

Varsity Volleyball & Basketball (Grades 7–8)

  • Tryout-based teams

  • Compete in the Mt. Hood Conference

  • One-way travel to away games provided

  • $80 per season

Intramural Volleyball & Basketball (Grades 6–8)

  • Open to all students, no tryouts

  • Skill-building and in-school scrimmages

  • Two days per week

  • $25 per season

Track & Field (Grades 6–8)

  • Open to all students

  • Compete in the Mt. Hood Conference

  • One-way travel to away meets provided

  • $80 per season

Busing on Game Days: Buses are provided to away games only. Students will need to be picked up by parent/legal guardian from the location to get home.
